When Unai Emery joined Arsenal, he knew the job ahead of him wasn’t going to be an easy one. Replacing a manager that has spent 22 years at a club and also at the lowest point of the club in ages. It was never going to be an easy one. The premier league fixtures were also not too kind to the Spaniard.
Arsenal first game is at home against defending champion, Manchester City. Despite having most of their first team players at the world cup, City were still able to come up with a strong line up to our muscle Arsenal 2-0.

The gunners were having everyone back but Unai Emery decided to go for a surprising line up which include playing 19 year old Mateo Guendueozi in midfield ahead of Lucas Torreira. The lineups were the whole story started with Petr Cech in goal trying to play it from the back with his feet which obviously not use to. This slow down Arsenal’s attack every time when they have a goal kick.
With City having their star players available for the match and not willing to take any chances, Pep Guadiola put out a lineup consisting of Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and newly signed Riyad Mahrez.
With Sterling and Bernado Silva scoring in each half, Emery got his premier league campaign started with a loss and next up is Chelsea. Arsenal have started a new life under a new manager and it will take time to adapt to his sytem.
